Charlotte, NC "The Queen City"
Charlotte NC is referred to as the "Queen City". I'm sure there is something in its history that led to that designation, but I haven't taken the time to research it. One thing I do know is that the city has been on a fast track of growth since my first visit back in 1991.
During those first visits I was dissapointed in the city as there was no "downtown" (folks in Charlotte call it Uptown) life after 5 PM and there was very little in terms of diversification in culture or dining. Boy what a transformation since then!
Currently downtown has numerous restaraunts and clubs/pubs open for business which serve the public well. There are wine bars, live music venues featuring everything from folk music to authentic blues, diversified restaraunts, and cultural events including plays, opera, etc.. Growth in both Asian and Latin American populations have positively contributed to bringing Charlotte to the forefront of a medium city with a Big City feel..
Over time I will continue to capture the essence of Charlotte through photography. Click here to see the current Charlotte photos.
